Community Pediatrics

This rotation allows a resident to step back from the individual patient focus to experience a more community- or population-based health care focus. Residents spend time in the South Madison Community Health Clinic, usually working with lower income patients. Residents also spend time exploring community resources such as such as vision and hearing screening, the Waisman Center, and the Wisconsin Sleep Center. Several didactic sessions discussing the integration of community services into individual patient care connect the components of this rotation into a great overall experience.
